“I understand that people are very passionate and people love astros and have sports, but threatens to find my children and murder them, is a bit difficult to only deal as a father,” I think McCullers, 31, reporters after the astros' 13: 9 loss against the Cincinnati Reds.

“So, I think there have been many, many threats over the years, and I think that in fact, one or two people actually had to go into prison in dealing with baseball for such things,” McCullers continued. “But I think children bring children into the equation, threatens to find them, or if they see us in public, they will stab my children to death, things like that, it is difficult to hear as a father.”

According to ESPN, Astros manager Joe Espada was “visibly annoyed” when he addressed the situation after the game.

“There are people who threaten his life and life of his children because of his performance,” said Espada. “It is very regrettable that we have to deal with it. After all, he has the fact for his team, the fact that we have to talk about it in my office – I also have children and it really drives me that we have to deal with it. Very, very, very sad.”

Espada added: “Listen, he has not set up for 2 ½ years. It will take a little time to get it up. And that's okay. But that cannot happen. I am really upset that this can happen to the athletes.”

McCullers has been with the Astros organization for more than a decade and made his debut in the Major League with the team in 2015 and later became a key member of the World Series winning teams from Houston in 2017 and 2022.

“If you fail, fail on a very large stage [with] Many eyes, and there is nowhere to hide, “said McCullers after the game.” At the end of the day I just want to do my job. I just want to be a good jug for the Astros, and I think I will arrive there. But as I said, I just think that I only had to worry about worrying about leaving the city and leaving it and sorting things or throwing them off at school, I just think … There should be a kind of decency. ”
