During the annual cryptographer panels, Adi Shamir -one of the world's leading cryptographers that represents the “S” in the RSA cryptosystem said that Blockchain technology still has potential as a decentralized main register, but the main users, cryptocurrency, has heated up a massive increase in cyber crime. Shamir told the participants that “the world would be a better place if they were never invented,” said Mathew Schwartz, Executive Editor for DataBroachtoday and Europe.

Cyber security increasingly makes it to the agendas of the board. This applies in particular to the security of OT due to the possible disruption of the business, says Robert M. Lee, CEO and co -founder of Dragos, who spoke to Rahul Neel Mani, Vice President of Community and Editorial at ISMG. “The boards are now talking more about OT security than the CISO,” said Neel Mani.

The effects of data sovereignty and geopolitics on the purchase decisions of cyber security are a central topic at RSAC. “There was an advance of organizations, not only in Europe, but also in Asia in the Middle East, to keep their data locally, whether this means a local data center, regardless of whether this works with a hyperscaler for points of presence,” said Michael Novinson, the Managing Editor of the ISMG Business.

The discussion participants – Schwartz; Anna Delaney, director, productions; NEEL Mani; and Novinson – also discussed:

  • The vision of the Ministry of Homeland Protection for strengthening America cyber security;
  • The growing focus on securing public and private AI models;
  • The role of agents -KI in training the security consciousness.
