Game 4 updates, injuries, news

The Celtics can return to 1st place this evening, since a victory in a crucial game 4 against the Knicks Boston's home advantage in the half year of the Eastern Conference would restore.

After over 20 points of more than 20 points were collapsed in the first two games in TD Garden, the Celtics appeared for a must-win game 3, as the season was up to date-it was probably on the way to a 22-point blowout in the Madison Square Garden.

The Celtics broke their slump in a great extent on Saturday to shoot 50 percent from the depth and to lead up to 31 points to calm some of the concerns from two embarrassing losses.

“There is no way to do how it should be,” said coach Joe Mazzulla. “You have to go according to size and you don't get the dictation in front of you. You only dictate the approach. I plan to do this for a long time and trust myself that it could be much worse than the last 72 hours.”

The Celtics still have a lot to do because a defeat would get their title defense to the edge tonight. Boston is perhaps without Sam Hauser, who was classified as questionable before game 4, but the rest of the squad is good to go.

The tip in the Madison Square Garden (and on ESPN) is live updates, analyzes and comments from the Globe staff for 7:30 p.m. Consequences.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown still haven't delivered their best performances. Could game 4 be one? – 6:00 p.m.

The good news for the Celtics is that in game 4 of their semi -final series of the Eastern Conference there is still plenty of space for improvements against the Knicks.

They drove to an 115-93 victory in game 3 and led up to 31 points, but they didn't play their best basketball, especially their stars.

While Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were better and more aggressive in game 3, it was not particularly efficient. With the 50 percent 3-point shootings, there were problems in the arch, especially of this duo.

They combined two for two, including seven errors in the limited area. Both can be better. The positive for the Celtics is that both were more aggressive and the rim attacked with more strength grips. In the first two games there was a feeling of hesitation.
