Clock: “Death does not exist” the first look that is unveiled before the fourteen days of the directors of Cannes

Cinephiles has its first look today Death does not exist ((La Mort n'existe pas), The latest hand-drawn feature of the famous Canadian filmmaker Félix Dufour-Laperrière (Archipelago, Ville Neuve, transatlantic). The animated drama will do its world premiere during the fourteen days of directors in Cannes, a non -competitive, independent side bar for the film festival in Cannes and in June in the competition in Annecy.

The film follows a political activist named Hélène, who, after a failed armed attack on the rich landowners of a luxurious villa, escapes into the forest, in which metamorphoses and large upheavals disturb the natural order. When one of her employees catches up with her, Hélène has to rethink whether you join the violent attack or not – and decide how far she is ready to compromise one faith for another.

Dufour-Laperrière told the Deadline, which premiered the new clip: “It is a story about radicalism, with all its contradictions, its hopes, her dead ends. A story that was born from deep anger, from overwhelming wishes to try the world to get the world in motion-to collide the limits of its own actions, and its own ideas. Violence and the impossibility of the status quo.

Death does not exist examined as a work in the work at the Annecy Festival 2024 (where Dufour-Laperrière is a jury award in the Contrechamp competition for Gewann archipelago in 2021). The film is produced by Nicolas & Felix Dufour-Laperrière for Embuscade films and Emmanuel-Alain Raynal and Pierreausaron for Miyu productions.

The film is published by UFO distribution in France and Maison 4: 3 in Canada Theater. The international rights are treated by the best friend in Brussels.
