Reward in Teen's 1997 Mission Bay drowned death, ruled a murder-san Diego Union-Tribune

The authorities contacted public Monday to help identify the person or the people who are responsible for the murder of a teenager in Mission Bay 28 years ago.

Curtis Williamson, 16, was killed on March 26, 1997 during a big fight on the Crown Point Shores Beach.

While the fracas, in which 20 to 50 people were involved, the victim and a friend fled into the harbor water, and Curtis drowned. The district's office of the district's medical examiner decided his death as a murder.
