New Freedom Farm announces the closure at the end of July

Buchanan, va. – The New Freedom Farm will officially hire business on July 31 of this year, since the founder and director Lois Magill prepares for retirement after almost a decade.

The farm published the following explanation on Monday:

“We write to share a bitterly sweet but joyful update: New Freedom Farm will complete his business on July 31, 2025, since our founder and director Lois Dawn Magill is preparing to retire after almost a decade of committed service.

Since the foundation of the New Freedom Farm in 2016, Lois has cast her heart into creating a place of healing, hope and connection for veterans, EMS employees and their families. Under your leadership and with the help of our amazing volunteers and supporters-we have numerous horses saved and maintained who have built up powerful, life-changing ties between animals and humans.

While Lois is entering this well -deserved next chapter, we decide to celebrate everything New Freedom Farm has achieved. The effects of this community will live on in the life she touched and the love she has promoted.

Until July, our board is committed to a thoughtful and compassionate transition. During this time we work to keep the veterans the support that they need through trustworthy transfers. We carefully take into account the special needs of each of our esteemed horses and will ensure that every animal in the care of the new Freedom Farm continues to receive the same sympathy and the same love they have experienced so far.

At every supporter, volunteer, donor and friend: Thanks. Her friendliness was the heart of the New Freedom Farm, and we are so grateful to have shared this trip with you.
