Pete Alonso picks up Mets to win pirates (highlights)

The New York Mets (27-15) fought back on Monday evening in the Citi Field for an exciting 4: 3 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates (14-28).

In Paul Slenes, New York tried to use the early possibilities, even though he put traffic on the bases in five of the first six innerings. The Mets finally broke through in the fourth when Brandon Doubled and Jeff McNeil followed with an RBI double to bind the game.

David Peterson agreed to Slenes Pitch-For-Pitch and jumped back after a second Inning Homer retired 10 direct battery. He escaped a jam in the fifth with an important strike by Bryan Reynolds and saved the tie.

Both teams exchanged runs in a tense seventh inning. Tyrone Taylor's hit-by-pitch and stolen base put on Luisangel Acuña, whose infield single contributed to sparking a METS rally. Juan Soto tied it with a groundout, and Alonsos distracted Infield -Single gave New York his first tour.

After Pittsburgh bound the game in the ninth time, the mets answered. After a mistake by the pirates, Soto set up to create the stage for Alonso's victim fly, which brought the winner's run home and defeated New York's fourth Walk-Off win of the season.

Box score

The Mets will continue their series against the pirates on Tuesday at 7.10 p.m., with Kodai Senga being supposed to take over the hill against Mitch Keller.
