New seats of United Polaris' business class seats are leaked: What is to be expected

Tomorrow is a big day for United Airlines, since the airline based in Chicago is expected to officially unveiled its new seats of the Business Class seats Polaris. However, the first pictures are leaked through the unveiling.

United notes in the great announcement for May 13th

United teases a big revelation on Instagram on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. A short video simply shows what looks like aircraft windows. The text moves over the screen and reads “Be the first to know”. Between the individual words there is a picture of a detail of what is probably the new cabin.

Tomorrow the airline will organize an event in Brooklyn, which were invited to participate selected media and MileagePlus members. It seems quite clear that the announcement in this announcement receives.

Here is another entertaining turn – as was reported by reader Raylan, the first picture of the new seats of the event was actually leaked through Reddit. It's not necessarily the clearest picture, but we feel good for the updated design.

New United Polaris Business Class Seat

United introduced its current Polaris Business Class at the end of 2016, so that we are approaching a decade of the current product. United has done great work with product consistency in the entire body fleet, although United will probably exchange this consistency for an improved and somewhat more striking product.

What we know about the new Polaris Business Class from United

While nothing is 100% safe, all the signs indicate that United presents his new product of Polaris Business Class on newly delivered Boeing 787-9. In the next 787 -year -olds, new cabins will not only contain in the Premium configuration, which we have ever seen from the airline with 64 seats of the Polaris Business Class.

I could certainly be wrong, although I suspect that the new Polaris Business Class from United will be an individual version of the Adient Ascent Seat. This is because the seating cards we have seen so far have shown a mixture of reverse fishing grätensitzen along the windows and fishing rabbit seats along the middle. There are not many modern products with this layout, except for the configuration of Adient Ascent. The pictures above also go with that, I can best say.

Qatar Airways was the starting customer for this product, at its Boeing 787-9S, and Hawaiian Airlines was the second airline that presented this product, also on the 787-9S. This is also the new 787-9 business class of American for its newly delivered premium jets.

The expectation is that United will also have a “Premium Business Class” product in the first row with additional space and amenities. It remains to be seen how this will be sold (regardless of whether it is a fixed upgrade fee for a PASICES of Polaris or what).

Ultimately, this will not be a type of earth that is shaken by the Business Class product, but:

  • Doors will contain doors at Business Class seats, which is increasingly becoming a norm
  • You can expect a highly updated technology, from Bluetooth audio to USB-C charging processes, which is just a function of the seat that has recently been introduced (Seat Tech has put a long way in recent years).
  • Ultimately, there are many merits to select one of the “Off The Shelf” products, since they do not want to end up in an infinite certification and supply chain restricting loop, how what we have seen with Lufthansa Allegris

So I could be wrong, but that's my guess, and we should find out all the details in less than 24 hours …

Conclusion

United Airlines will make a big announcement tomorrow, and the airline is expected to unveil its new product for Business Class products. Although we do not yet know any details (apart from the above -mentioned leak), it is likely that the airline will select the Adient -ASCENT product with an experience in the first row “Business Class Plus”.
