Intherded in the Hague, Philippines' Duterte wins the home mayor elections

Manila, the Philippines – the former Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte was almost certain on Monday that he was elected by a landslide by a landslide to the mayor of his hometown, which was not implemented by his detention in front of the International Criminal Court as a crime against humanity.

With 80% of the votes that were counted in an unofficial balance, Duterte, who was brought to Hague in March because of his bloody “war against drugs”, who killed thousands of people.

The victory in nationwide intermediate elections is proof of the lasting influence of the 80-year-old in the southern city, since he brought him the call as a criminal buster who earned him the nicknames “Duttee Harry” and “The Punisher”.

The old Facebook account from Duterte was flooded with congratulations from supporters, with some of which demanded his return to the service of his people.

“Congratulations, Tatay (father) D! Let him bring him home,” says one of the comments.

Duterte could be the first Asian former head of state to be brought to trial at the ICC.

His surprising arrest by the Filipino police at the request of the ICC under his army of supporters, who referred to them as a kidnapping at the behest of a foreign court.

He defended the razza against drug defenders and his legal team says that his arrest was illegal. The ICC claims that it is responsible to pursue alleged crimes before Duterte retired the Philippines from its founding contract in 2019.

Despite the case of the ICC, including alleged murders of criminal suspects by an “agony” in Davao, while Duterte was – what he denied – analysts said that his arrest only hardened the support for him and his family in Davao and beyond.

The two sons of the former president were to win posts on Monday, one re -elected congress member and the other who won the competition for Davao Vice Mayor and is probably used in the absence of his father.

The political resistance and dominance of the family in Davao could prove to be a pivotal as the popular daughter of Duterte, the Vice President Sara Duterte, looks like an office procedure that could prohibit politics for life if it is convicted and the hopes of a presidential run.

When asked about her father's probable victory, she said that the plans for him as mayor would be created.

“The ICC lawyer said as soon as we receive proclamation papers, we will discuss how he can take off,” she said.
