Deaths

We remember those who are no longer with us in Rosco, South Beloit and Rockton.

In the past few weeks we announced the following death for Rockton, Rosco and South Beloit with sadness:

April 14, 2025:
Gayle Keefer, 97, Rockton
It served over 41 years in the Talcott Library Board, including the President of the Board. She founded a scout troop in the log cabin in the Main Street in Rockton.

April 28, 2025:
Christian Nye, 30, South Beloit
A friend remembers the good times they had together or just spoke about life.

May 1, 2025:
Donna M. Larson, 63, Rosco
After graduating in Hononegah in 1980, she worked as an accountant for Kerry for 25 years. It served as a meal on wheels in Beloit in Beloit for 30 years and even served on the board.

May 3, 2025:
Joanne E. Lentz, 86, Rockton
She was a housewife, married for 56 years and later worked for the Fresh beginning program and retired in 2004.

May 4, 2025:
Noel R. Pettenger, 75, Rosco
He worked for 22 years at Winnebago Forest Preserve and then Rockford Country Club for 39 years. He loved preaching on the roadside in Rockton in the church.

May 5, 2025:
Mary F. Ovist, 47, South Beloit
As a graduate of the South Beloit High School in 1997, she worked at Delong Company. A loving mother, a perfect woman and opened her arms for everyone. She liked to play and rode with her Harley.

May 10, 2025:
Jodi Slick, 59, Rosco
After she started her 38 -year career as a nurse with Mercyhealth, her high school schatz followed her to Rockford. They were married for 36 years. She sang in the choir of the United Methodist Churches in Mt. Carroll and Rosco.
