Clearwater Ferry Crash: The lawyer of the Live owner of Jannus deals

One man is dead and 10 others were injured after a 37-foot boat, which was operated by Jefry Knight, the owner of Jannus Live, was plunged into the back of the Clearwater ferry.

The other side:

In a letter to the investigators who received Fox 13 on Tuesday, Knight's lawyer wanted to address what he described as a “misinformation” in connection with the incident, in particular that Knight fled the scene.

In the letter partly reads: “Immediately after the accident, Mr. Knight led a passenger to his ship to call 911, and this passenger stayed on the line for 12 minutes with 911.

The letter continues to say knights “The captain of the ferry boat said that he was able to transport injured people with water into the Morton Plant Hospital. This offer was rejected.”

The lawyer said Knight had only left when rescue workers arrived and his boat accepted too much water. In addition, the letter finds that Knight was voluntarily subjected to a breath alcohol test that returned a result of 0.00 and confirmed what the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) had previously disclosed.

The venue announced a public message on Instagram, which spends condolences to the victims and their families, and called “compassion and patience how the facts regarding this heartbreaking incident continue to appear”.

The background story:

The authorities said that the joint investigation, which was carried out jointly by the FWC and the US Coast Guard, will take time due to the complex nature of maritime accidents.

“The examination of ships accident differs a lot from the examination of vehicles,” said an FWC officer. “You are dealing with a dynamic environment – tides and wind shift. Things are not in the same place. It only takes a long process to work through all the way.”

The examination of the crash of Clearwater Ferry has not yet been completed.
