Associated Press

Mexico City (AP) -Pachuca won his first Liga MX Femenil Apertura Championship 3-2 in Agregate about America despite a 2-0 defeat at the second leg on Monday.

Irene Guerrero, a midfielder who plays for the Spanish national team, and striker Scarlett Camberos scored goals for America, but it wasn't enough for the Aguilas to overcome a 3-0 deficit from the first stage of the last series.

Pachuca had lost in his three previous appearances in the final series, in the Apertura 17 and the Clausura 2022 and '23 tournaments.

“It was of fundamental importance to gained at home. We did not come here to defend the lead, but America played great and pushed us,” said Pachuca's goalkeeper Wheefanny Barreras, who was chosen as the game. “It is a nice and historical moment to win the first title for us.”

The professional league of women in Mexico played their first season in 2017 and it became increasingly popular.

America tried to conquer his third title. The team based in Mexico city has lost four of the last six final series.
