Henrique scored twice when the Oilers defeated the Golden Knights 3-0 in game 4 of the Playoff series

Edmonton, Alberta (AP) -Adam Henrique had two goals, Stuart Skinner scored 23 parades and the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 on Monday evening to take over a 3-1 lead in their NHL playoff series of the second round.

Evander Kane had a goal and a template for Edmonton. Connor McDavid collected an assist and extended his point strips to eight games.

“I only think that everyone (after a) great disappointment of game 3, the way we played, and the way it ended was dialed out,” said Oilers coach Krist Knoblauch. “They knew they had to increase it tonight.”

Skinner was again online for Edmonton after replacing the backup Calvin Pickard, who had dropped six successive victories before he was injured in game 2. Skinner, who achieved an average average of 5.36 goals in the late season.

“We only put on our job boots and our hard hats and went to work,” said Skinner. “The way we applied for a number of games is quite unbelievable. It is difficult and the way we made it consistently shows very proud of this group.”

Adin Hill made 29 stops for the golden knights, which are a loss due to elimination.

“Be better, that's a kind of,” said Jack Eichel, Golden Knights striker, who had stopped his points strips in six games. “We go home and you are at home, game 5, win a game and go out of there. This is really everything that is important at this point. As a group, I only think that it has to be better, cleaner and with more urgency.”

It was Henrique's first multigoal playoff game since his rookie season 2012.

Kane helped close it when he decided to shoot on a 2-on-1 shot, and it hit the skate of a defender and was distracted in 7:38. It was his fourth season.

The Oilers have won all eight of their games in game 4 since 2023.

The striker of Vegas, Reilly Smith, pointed out that the Golden Knights were 2-1 to Minnesota in the first round before he marched back with three consecutive victories.

“I mean, we did it last series,” he said, “so we have a lot of trust in this group and we will only take it individually.”
