12 people who are charged with intensive action against the retail crime of the city center

Five people were arrested and 12 were charged with an intensive approach to the retail crime in the city center.

The Scottish police officers were accompanied by members of retailers against Crime (RAC) in order to start an increase in shop theft.

During their most successful exercise so far, individuals were charged with crimes such as shoplifting and drug ownership.

A team of 31 simple and uniformed police officers, including two of the British traffic police, spent the day on the streets of Glasgow to concentrate on the most productive crime criminals for retail.

A security officer who joined the action day said: “The general consensus was that it was a phenomenal day with a real feeling of camaraderie and the good results in order to deter several people from shop theft.

“I've been involved in the RAC campaign days for about five years, I took part in everyone and that was the best so far.

“They have developed into something very important and have the crime that we see in the city center that has increased massively in recent years.

“There are more confidence when people are caught and arrested.”

Figures from the annual crime survey of the British Retail Consortium, which was published at the beginning of this year, showed how retail crime with 55,000 theft per day was “out of control” throughout the Great Britain – an all -time high – and violent and abusive incidents that rose by 50% last year.

RAC numbers also describe how incidents of violent crimes increase, whereby in 1674 members were reported to the organization by the members of a total of 11,890 crimes.

“A good number of criminals were prevented from causing shop theft on that day and behaving anti -social behavior.

“Days like these are as important and they have brought the police, security staff and retailers together to build relationships and combat the continued fight against retail crimes, which is an essential problem and can have an extremely overwhelming effect.”

Natasa Wilson, coordinator for RAC secret services, added: “Our last day of action was the best so far. She reflected the exact planning that we and police in Scotland and the great partnership and support that we receive from our members and security companies.”
