Jayson Tatum injury almost has NBA expert canceled his podcast

The Boston Celtics not only lost a large playoff game, but also their franchise pillar.

In his podcast after the game, Bill Simmons from the wrestling summarized well.

“I really wanted to cancel that. Tonight was not a good night for Celtic fans. Holy (explosive),” said Simmons.

Simmons, a long-time Celtics fans and NBA expert, said that Jayson Tatum's creepy-looking injury in game 4 against the New York Knicks could have a big impact on Boston's future-and became a little melodramatic.

“We will see what happens to Tatum, but this could go as one of the darker Celtic days,” said Simmons.

The Celtics have had a few dark days over the years. There was the death of Draft Pick Len Bias, number 2 of the 1986 NBA design. There was the tragic death of Reggie Lewis, who suffered cardiac arrest at the age of 27.

Even on the injury front, there was the year when Larry Bird injured his back as he shoveled gravel for his mother's driveway.

If the violation of Tatum is indeed serious, this could mark a turning point for the franchise. Even with all-stars who have entered the squad, Boston is based on her star scorer. As Simmons found, this injury could derail the rest of the NBA office time from Tatum.

“He is at the peak of his career,” said Simmons. “He has never had a serious injury, Tatum. If this is like a big one, he not only takes it out for these playoffs, but it also takes them out for the whole year. They only wonder if he will be able to return to the point at which he was tonight.

Co-moderator J. Kyle Mann summarized it pretty well.

“This is a big (expantive) crap, man,” he said.

The Celtics lost the 4-year game against the Knicks to fall 3-1 in the final of the Eastern Conference. Boston is now facing a big task of picking up a big comeback without picking up her top star.

The loss of Tatum could strongly influence the Boston championship window. With the way the team is being built, the roster could look different up to the time when it returns to the court.

Simmons emphasized that it was so important that the Celtics were embedded with a title when they did it.

“We will see what happens to Tatum. But that speaks to A, how difficult it is to win a title. B how important happiness is. C, what it is like to put together only a few really good years in a row,” said Simmons.
