A mother in Australia was charged with the death of her three children after a “suspicious” house fire.

Around 12:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, May 7th, emergency services were called to a house that had been “devoured” by Flames on Merritt Street in the city of Toowoomba. Ellouisa Patricia Brighton's nine -year -old son was found dead in the rubble, while her two daughters died later in the hospital after they had contributed to life -threatening injuries, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

The 36 -year -old Brighton, who remains in the hospital in “critical condition” – has since been charged with three cases of murder, three cases of attempted murder and arson, the police service of Queensland said on Tuesday, May 13th, in a press release.

“After a search of the property, a body was discovered by a 9-year-old boy,” said the police in the press release. “Later on the same day, a 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl died about her injuries in the Children's Hospital of the Queensland.”

The authorities confirmed that two men aged 34 and 18 and an 11-year-old boy were able to escape the fire.

“The 34-year-old man was operated on his arm for serious injuries, while the 18-year-old man and the 11-year-old boy were treated for minor injuries,” said the police in the press release.

“After a comprehensive investigation, in the detective of the toowoomba Child Protection Investigation Unit with the support of the investigative unit, the unity of children's trauma and the forensic specialist units for murder units, the police charged a 36-year-old woman because of three charges of murder (domestic violence).

The case was mentioned today in front of the Brisbane Magistrates Court, with plans, on Friday, May 16, Pro ABC.

According to the outlet, the records of Interstate Child Safety are requested by the police.

Insider allegedly reported that the fire was “out of the blue” and the family had no reports on police or child protection services.

According to reports, the officials also investigate whether children's service in other states had reports on the family.
