A woman and a 12-year-old boy were freed from a car from a car after chasing the police on Monday evening with an accident in Leimerert Park.

The police authority in Los Angeles said that the crash was taking place around 8:21 p.m. near the Clenshaw Boulevard and Vernon Avenue.

The officials followed a driver looking for a possible DUI. It is unclear how the crash took place.

Firefighters had to free a 30-year-old woman and a 12-year-old from the car. The woman was taken to the hospital in a critical condition and the boy's condition is still unknown, said the LAPD.

After the crash, a LAPD patrol car caught fire. The officials could get out of it and were not injured.

The police said that another car was also involved in the crash and the driver was also taken to a nearby hospital.
