1 dead, 2 injured when crashed to SR-44 in Deland

Deland, Fla. -The Florida Highway Patrol examines a fatal accident with two vehicles, which caused roadblocks in Deland.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of the State Road 44 (New York Avenue) and the Shell Road, said Troopers.

According to an FHP crash report, preliminary evidence indicates that the crash concerns two vehicles: a Toyota Tacoma from 2018 and a 2023 Dodge RAM 2500. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, whose identity is pending, was declared dead on site.

The driver and passenger of the pick-up truck were brought to Adventhealth Deland with non-life-threatening injuries, the soldiers said.

The soldiers are examined both towards the east and west of SR-44 at the intersection of the Shell Road.
