The police examine hit-and-run crash, in which the person in Hamden was seriously injured

Hamden, Conn. (Wfsb) – A man was seriously injured after being hit by a driver in Hamden on Monday evening, the police said.

The officials responded to reports from a driver who met a person in the area of Dixwell Avenue and the Mather Street around 8:30 p.m.

When the officials arrived, they found a man on the street. According to the authorities, he was brought to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses informed the police that the suspect's vehicle was a dark colored SUV with damage to the front grille.

According to reports, the suspect reported briefly before fleeing north on the Dixwell Avenue before the police appeared.

The Dixwell Avenue was closed for several hours overnight when the Hamden accident reconstruction team examined. The road has been open again since then.
