Driver in custody after beating and killed the 9-year-old boy in Pleasant Grove

Peppenty Grove-a 9-year-old boy was killed and killed by a truck in Pleasant Grove on Tuesday, and the driver was custody after leaving the scene.

Pleasant Grove Police Sgt. Derick Shumway said that the boy was crossed after 900 west 2600 North after 900 west when he was hit by a truck that bent on a stop sign.

First aiders provided first aid to the boy before he was taken to the hospital, but Shumway said that the boy died there shortly after his arrival.

“(It is a great tragedy for us; something that none of us want to answer,” said Shumway. “Our hearts go to the families and witnesses and everyone who was really involved.”

The investigators spoke to witnesses and videos that help them identify the vehicle as a white, four-door Chevy truck with a handicap poster. They learned that his driver was a man in the 80s.

The police said the man was found on Tuesday evening and started the survey, but they did not release his name. The investigators are working to determine what could have caused him to beat the boy.

The police did not leave the name of the boy who died on Tuesday.
