GCW denies responsibility for the death of Sabu according to an alarming article

An independent Pro -Wrestling promotion and one of his biggest stars refuse responsibility for the death of a legend after alarming details have been published in a feature that focused on its final match. The entire saga comes from the tragic death of Sabu (real name: Terrance Brun), which developed a cult in the nineties that follows his work in extreme Championship Wrestling.

WWE-WO SABU briefly worked in the mid-2000s, confirmed his death at the age of 61 on Sunday, just three weeks after he ran in his age game for the independent promotion game Changer over the wrestlemania weekend.

One day after the death of Sabu, Phil Schneider released a lengthy characteristic about his final match for uncrowned. And while the article was apparently intended to pay tribute to the Hardcore symbol, many readers quickly pointed to some strange details, including the measures that GCW took to reach the game.

In a certain passage, Sabus opponent Joey Janela remembered the legend that he had delivered with Kratom, which he described before the game as “legal opiat or something” (it is unclear who made Sabu available with the drug). In another case, Janela explained that Sabu was “definitely cold” after a place in the game, who was still going on.

When excerpts from history made the round on social media, many quickly criticized Janela and GCW owner/promoter Brett Lauderdale for the circumstances in connection with Sabu, and some even went so far to combine it with his death. Janela and Lauderdale each pushed to X to express their sympathy for Sabus death while they refused to do so in the situation.

Janela also returned his claim that the 61-year-old was temporarily passed out during her game.

“Any proposal that I or 'GCW' or Joey Janela forced him to make this match, provided him with substances or somehow caused him, his death is responsible, incomprehensible, hurtful and wrong,” wrote Lauderdale. “It is annoying and discouraging to see people who are so eager to give a judgment without knowing the facts.

“I would never knowingly put someone from whom I believed that it was a danger for yourself or others in the ring, and my track record shows that this is true.”

While Sabus does not yet have to be announced, there is currently no reason to assume that it is associated with its final game. Nevertheless, the details from Schneider's article did not provide the best look for GCW and Janela, and it will certainly be worth monitoring further developments in this story.
