AJ PUK's elbow injury does not require an operation

On Tuesday there is finally more clarity about the status of the left -hander AJ PUK and his injured elbow. Torey Lovullo, Manager of Diamondbacks, said after her defeat against the New York Mets that PUK does not need an operation.

Nick Piecoro from The Republic of Arizona Reports that the injury is a bay burden.

“He will continue without throwing in the next 2-3 weeks and become asymptomatic,” said Lovullo. “As soon as he becomes asymptomatic, we will bring it to the next stage and see where it is. He is for 2-3 weeks, no throw, just treatment and just gets healthy.”

PUK has been out with the left -wing elbow inflammation since April 19. His absence in connection with co-close Justin Martinez, who is fighting against shoulder problems, has negatively influenced the Bullpen of the Diamondbacks. Arizona lost three consecutive series and blown a lead in the seventh in or later in four of his last six defeats.

Now that PUK is over for some time, this will force others to wear the cargo in the bullpen. You just got Kevin Ginkel back, who missed the first month of the season due to the right shoulder inflammation.

Ginkel's return gives the Diamondbacks another high -quality helper at the back of their bullpen. In the last two seasons in this role as an important setup man or firefighter, he took part, that would not be a new role for him.

Jalen Beeks is the only left -hander who remains in Arizonas Bullpen. He was heavily taxed to start the season with 13 appearances and 16 innings. While Beeks was a stroke of luck for the Bullpen, he is up to date for 75 games. This is not sustainable because it could lead to over -claimed injuries or to reduce effectiveness.

Another question will be how Lovullo deals with the narrower role. He separated the role between Justin Martinez and Puk, with Matchups dictating who set up the eighth and ninth inner sings. It was effective in the first two weeks of the season when the couple fell for six parades and seven holds, and the team started with 12: 7.
