Watch: Schumer promises to keep the doj nominated for answers to Qatars jet gift to Trump

Washington (AP) – the democratic chairman of the Senate, Chuck Schumer, said on Tuesday that he would stop all the nominations of the Ministry of Justice in the Senate until he receives more answers to the replacement for the Free Air Force.

Trump said this week that he would like to accept the 400 million dollar aircraft and that it would be donated to a presidential library later. The Press spokesman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, told Fox News on Monday that the details of the donation will still be worked out.

Take a look at the statements by Sen. Schumer in our video player above.

The plan, said Schumer, “is not only a bare corruption, but also a serious national security threat.”

Schumer said he wanted to answer the lawyer Pam Bondi and the Trump administration as to whether they would examine activities in the United States through Catarian foreign agents that could benefit Trump or his business. He also wants to know whether Qatar is responsible for adding security measures onto the aircraft and how it is built and paid for.

“The Attorney General must testify both in front of the house and before the Senate to explain why the gift of Donald Trump, a private jet, does not violate the emrocers – for which the consent of the congress – or other ethics laws are necessary,” said Schumer.

Democrats have expressed uniform outrage over the potential foreign gift, and many Republicans are also restless through the plan. The senators of both parties put back to Washington on Monday evening and asked how the deal would work and emphasized how important it is to follow federal laws that rule as a US president can accept gifts from abroad.

“We have to look at the constitutionality,” said Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Rw.Va., who said she was concerned about possible spy devices that are installed on the plane. The Republican Senator James Lankford from Oklahoma said Trump said that he would follow the law, and that is the right answer. “

The Republican Senator Randa Paul von Kentucky said Trump should not accept the jet. “I don't think it looks good or smells good,” said Paul. Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo.

Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma was one of the few senators who defended the deal. “Why should we take care of it if another country wanted to give the United States a gift?” he asked.

Schumer believes that the Senate cannot quickly confirm Trump's Ministry of Justice. Many nominations on a lower level, such as US lawyers, are often approved in groups by language voting.

Democratic Sens. Chris Murphy from Connecticut, Brian Schatz from Hawaii, Chris Coons from Delaware and Cory Booker from New Jersey also said that this week they will be demanding a voice to reaffirm the “basic principle” that the officials should not take foreign gifts for personal profits.

Murphy said in a floor speech on Tuesday that Trump's corruption was “wild” and that his hope is that “by doing it publicly to think of the American people, it is not corruption because he does not hide it.”

Coons made security concerns.

“The Trojan horse was also a gift,” he posted on X.
