The Governor of the Blue State is a further appearance with Trump before his 100-day speech

Governor Gretchen Whitmer, D-Mich., Welcomed President Donald Trump on Tuesday at the Tarmac in Michigan before his speech to the members of the National Guard, where she also spoke at the event without hiding her face.

“Well, I hadn't planned to speak, but on behalf of all military men and women who serve our country and serve so honorfully on behalf of the state of Michigan, I am really happy that we are here,” said Whitmer.

The co-moderator of Fox News, Jeanine Pirro, said “The Five” on Tuesday that Whitmer had the chance to set the tone for the Democratic Party.

“I think that … of course she is there because of the troops, but there are some Democrats who would not be in the same room with Donald Trump,” said Pirro. “I think she did the right thing and I think it's a clever move to work with the president to bring the production back to Michigan.”

During the event on Tuesday, Trump presented plans to exchange the retired A-10 Warthog aircraft from the Selfridge Air National Guard Base to Michigan with 21 brand new F-15ex Eagle II fighting aircraft.

Trump informed the details during a speech to members of the National Guard in the Michigan base before an event reminded of his 100th day of office.

“That's why I would like to thank Governor Gretchen Whitmer for making us very attention. And, you know, I shouldn't do that. She is a democrat. They say: 'Do not. Do not have them here.' I said, “No, she will be here,” said Trump. And she was very involved with the Republicans with the Republicans. They worked together to save it. And it wasn't easy. So I would like to thank you a lot, Gretchen. Good job.”

Whitmer's presence on Tuesday came for a few weeks after she apparently hidden her face during a meeting with Trump in the Oval Office.

Whitmer was criticized for this

She made fun of the now viral moment by holding the folders in front of her face in front of her face again when she was asked about the president after her trip to Washington, DC, during an event in the Detroit Economic Club.

“… I don't want my picture to be taken, that's all it was. I wish I hadn't put my folder in front of my face, but whatever. You know, I was there … I just wrote a book about laughing from yourself, so I'm pretty good at it. We all have our moments,” said Whitmer.

The governor's journey to Washington brought her ambitions of the President to the national conversation in 2028 when she hit a diplomatic tone with Trump. She carefully criticized Trump's tariffs while she said that she understood the “motivation behind the tariffs” and even agreed that we “had to do more things in America”.

Whitmers Oval Office moment marked her second meeting with Trump in less than a month, and the meeting on Tuesday is now the third. When Trump signed Executive Orders from the Oval Office on April 9th and answered questions from the press, he said that Whitmer had “done excellent work as a governor” and described them as “very good person”, a break from his typical lines of attack on her character.

When Trump signed the Executive Orders, in which two helpers were examined for the first period, who criticized his actions, said Whitmer's office that she was “brought into the room without announcement”, and her appearance was “no confirmation of the measures or statements taken”.

But Trump called the problems “Bippartyin” and jokingly added: “We will all stand together and cut a band. Ok, gretchen?”
