Highlights of the FHSAA 1A State Championship

Despite the rain delays, the 1a boys and girls races had some great appearances from the girls and the boys. Here are some of the highlights of the races on Friday and Saturday.

The boy's 1a team went on Blue With 20 points. Holy Trinity and Pahokee With 12 points for the second bound.

In the 1a Boys 4x800m, the Holy Trinity team took the lead early and dominated the race and headed 7: 48.24.

The Michael Winfield of the Benjamin School led four boys under 49.00 with a time of 48.38 with 400 m. Secondly Dakota Brower by Oak Hall in 48.38, third too Da'corrian Jones From Pahokee in 48.53 and fourth to Asher Black by BlountStown in 48.83.

The Senior of Cambridge (Christian), Kai Martin, had to deal with an injury during most of the outdoor season, but returned to win the boy's 1a 800 m title with 1: 53.46.

Blue And Pahokee Fought in the 1a 4x400m, with BlountStown winning 3: 22.3. Pahokee ran 3: 22.80

Girl

The team of the 1A girls team went to Benjamin School with 21 points. Maclay finished second with 18 and Providence with 12.

The eighth grader Mary Summers by Seven Rivers Christian dominated from the beginning to 1600 m in 5: 01.84 and the 3200 m in 10: 52.87. In the 800 m she headed with less than 200 m and finished third with 2: 14.47.

Freshman Cai Culpepper from Tampa Prep won the 400/200 double. She won the 400 in 52.92 and the 200 m in 23.69.

Junior Keymani Dillingham from St. Stephens Episcopal won the 100 MH, the 400 MH, and finished third!
