Patriotic Action Forum demands Sammy Gyamfi's discharge via the dollar scandal

Members of the PAF have demanded that Sammy Gyamfi are released in the gift controversy

The Patriotic Action Forum (PAF) has called for the immediate dismissal of the incumbent Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, after the appearance of a viral video, in which it is made publicly accessible to give the dollar bills for preacher evangelists Patricia Asiedua, known as Nana Agradaa.

In a declaration published on Monday, May 12th, the forum was not only described as ruthless and inappropriate, but also an obvious violation of public trust.

“Sammy Gyamfi, barely four months after his role, is at the center of this shameful new culture. The same man who attacks a career is now taking out a stunning $ 10,000 (approx. GHS 140,000) with the fuel for a luxurious Lexus V8, not for state businesses, but a former gospel.

The group also aimed at the government of President John Dramani Mahama and accused them of promoting a culture of opulence, arrogance and hypocrisy, while the average Ghanaer worsens the economic difficulty.

PAF described the viral act of the dollar as a “grotesque abuse” and “unhealthy arrogance”, especially at a time when many Ghanaians have difficulties.

“Ghanaer is punished for trusting Mahama's misleading” reset “agenda, the group said and pointed out rising living expenses, loss of jobs and a revival of power failures (Dumsor) as evidence of the government's failure.
They also described Sammy Gyamfi as hypocritical and quoted his earlier criticisms of top -class people such as Cecilia Dapapaah and Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

“There is a saying:” If you are looking for equity, you have to come with clean hands. “Obviously, Mr. Gyamfi's hands are soaked in opulence and the abuse that he once condemned,” said the group.

PAF asked President Mahama to either reject Gyamfi or request his resignation immediately, and argued that the failure to undermine the recently launched code of conduct for the government officers emphasize the integrity, impartiality and professionalism.

“This is a litmus test for Mahama's leadership. If he does not act, he confirms what Ghanaer has suspected for a long time: The so-called” reset “is only a fog wall that enriches party loyalists at the public,” added the explanation.

The group gave the president a 24-hour ultimate to take measures or to ask a potential legal challenge in which the credibility of the new code was questioned
