Additional natural gas leaks in Madison: civil servants

Madison, CT – Southern Connecticut Gas discovered more natural gas leaks in Madison as a result of discontinued power lines from last weekend, although the discovery will not lead to interruptions, according to the city officials.

“The gas company has found that it will replace the damaged 3,000 foot gas line from Route 79 to approximately 127 overbrook road,” said the officials on Tuesday.

While the service is not interrupted, overbrook road Stay closed for repairs and maintenance for traffic for about two weeks, although the residents continue to have access.

“All remaining leaks are patched with temporary patches until the main line is replaced,” said official.

Two Madison schools were closed on Monday due to the leaks, but the classes at Rerson Elementary and Brown Intermediate were resumed on Tuesday.
