A life -saving gift is now only a few steps from a high school football field in Stillwater, Minnesota.

“As we all know, Keegan's quick campaign saved life,” said Nate Cox, sports director of the Stillwater Area High School.

On September 24th, Keegan Hawke went into cardiac arrest and collapsed during football training.

Two sports trainers acted quickly and started the HLW while preparing the automated external defibrillator (AED).

The AED did what it was supposed to, Hawke's heart started again when he hurried to the region's hospital in St. Paul.

Katie Hawke attributes the quick use of the AED to save her son's life.

On Tuesday, an outdoor AED was just a few steps away from the field in which Hawke collapsed.

In cooperation with the Teddy's Heart Foundation, a non -profit organization, the Teddy Dowdle Ehen, which died in 2022 out of sudden cardiac arrest. There was no AED nearby.

The Dowdle's made it a mission to make sure that nobody died because an AED is unreachable. A year after they lost their son, they installed the very first outdoor AED unit in the park in which Teddy collapsed.

“We did 22 of them and plan 50,” said Craig Dowdle, Teddy's father.

A device that as a tribute to both young and constant memories stands that there is no waiting when life is at stake.

“We hope that it will never have to be used, but we are grateful and relieved that it is here if it is needed,” said Hawke.
