Procession for Killen Fire Captain Captain killed in car accident

Killen, Texas (KWTX) – The body of Killeen Fire captain Marvin Taylor III. On May 13th, his immediate family and his firefighters accompanied them to a funeral home in Copperas Cove.

Captain Taylor was killed in a car accident in Austin early Sunday morning while picking up his four children after his wife gave birth to his fifth child.

On Tuesday there was a long series of emergency vehicles that traveled along the I-14 and accompanied the body of the beloved fire brigade captain to the place, where he will soon be relaxed.

“This morning was the last chapter in which Marvin, captain Taylor, was a place of security and calm so that his family could easily rest,” said James Kubinski, fire chief Killen.

Even now that chief Kuibinski says that members of her honor guard wake up about Captain Taylor and have not left his side since the moment when they came to the hospital after his fatal accident.

“They are currently in the same room with captain Taylor in the funeral home in the same room, and we will only leave his site after service,” he said, “we don't leave a family member behind.”

Killeen Fire Chief opens the devastating loss of captain Marvin Taylor III.

It is a way to honor those who have dedicated their lives to the servant of their community and also say goodbye.

Chef Kubinski says that this farewell is particularly difficult and reports that captain Taylor has changed her department in many ways to the better.

“As a member of the Killen Fire Department team, it was like winning the lottery,” he said, “it was always about doing the best job he could do, and that showed up with his actions, and then he simply directed it with the fact that he was always so positive.”

But while they process this grief, Chief Kubinski says that they are not alone … after they have received support from fire brigades and other law enforcement authorities throughout central texas and throughout the state.

“The support was overwhelming … from Austin to Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and everywhere in between,” said Chief Kubinski.

A donation point that supports the Taylor family has already collected more than 70,000 US dollars. While the family and the community continue to get through this tragedy, Chief Kubinski says that they will need all the love and support they can get.

“This is what will be most important … Other organizations in the coming days will be the opportunities for people to help,” he said.

All of this is shared via the city's website or the Killen Firefighters Local 2505.

But no matter what happens, the Taylors will always have the support of the Killen Fire Department and each of their members.

“Again we do not leave our family member behind and his family knows that we are here in the long run,” said Kubinski, “not only today or tomorrow, but we will be there in the long run.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Austin's police identified the man who was charged with the death of captain Taylor. Further information can be found Here.
