The man shot several times, killed in the vehicle in the Philadelphia district

A man was shot when he was sitting in a car in Philadelphia's fairhill section, said officials.

What we know:

Scott Small, police chief of Philadelphia, said that the police answered numerous 911 demands on the 3400 block of Hope Street on Tuesday evening, shortly after 8 p.m.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, was brought to the Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle, where he died of his injuries.

Inspector Small said the man was in a car when he was shot several times. He added that the investigators found 16 sleeves at the scene, 14 from a semi -automatic rifle and two from a semi -automatic pistol.

He said that the authorities found that a black SUV had recently driven south from the Hope Street scene.

What we don't know:

While civil servants say that a black SUV was seen, no suspicious description was presented.

Chief Inspector Small said that there are several cameras on the block that could be helpful during the examination.
