Chicago Cubs Score and Summary (May 13th, 200): Cubs 5, Marlins 4

The Cubs and Marlins met in the second game of their series on the Wrigley Field on Tuesday evening in the debut of the Major League by Catcher Moisés Ballesteros. For Chicago it was not promising for Chicago, but a dramatic rally in the 9th Inning led to a win and a very unlikely hero.

Kyle Stowers met a solo homerun from Ben Brown to give Miami the lead at the top of the 2nd. The northern coils went out the score when Pete Crow-Armstrong Valente Bellozo had taken up very deep to the right for the 3. Inning Homer.

Connor Norby tripled to open the top of the 5th inning, and came to an RBI Groundout by Javier Sanoja. A marlin error in the underside of the frame led to a victim fly by Crow-Armstrong, the things with 2: 2 band.

Julian Merryweather took over in the 7th and Norby marked him for a solo homer. The Cubs reliever later gave up an RBI single on Jesús Sánchez in the Inning and the Marlins were 4-2 in the top.

Chicagos did not do much of anything until the first two runners in the 9th approached the base against Miami. Nico Hoerner met an RBI single who reduced the deficit to 4: 3 and brought Justin Turner with the replacement in the middle of the game with men at the corners to the spot. Turner tore a double into the left-wing blanket, which scored both runners and achieved a 5: 4 victory for the Cubs. ((Box score)))

Key moment

Carson Kelly had an infield single and Dansby Swanson to set the first two in the 9th. Ballesteros defeated a potential double game and presented things for the rest of the comeback.

They held Miami from adding further insurance runs late, and at the end of the game came through with a few large clutch hits.

Statistics that are important

  • Second in a row beautiful performance for Brown for Brown, who settles in the rotation: 5.1 IP, 2 R, 5 h, 6 K, 0 BB.
  • PCA was the entire offense of the Cubs in front of the final inning.
  • Turner was looking for an excellent time for his first additional hit from 2025.
  • Ballesteros built four times.

Conclusion

Chicago is never out of a game with her strong line -up and you have proven it in it. Hopefully ball yesters can calm down a little and probably be a short time in the majors. It would be great if the CUBs could end a sweep on Wednesday, which they had problems in 2025 so far.

On deck

The home team tries to complete the Sweep mentioned above from Wednesday evening at 6.40 p.m. CT. Jameson Taillon competes against Ryan Weathers in a competition on the marquee with radio reporting on 670 of the score.
