Timpanogos university lecturer remembers students who were killed in motorcycle accidents

An Orem community is shocked after a 17-year-old was killed in a motorcycle accident.

Noah Scribner died a few days before he graduated from the high school and served his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of the saints of the past few days.

“Noah is one of these children with a big smile and enthusiasm for life. When they were near Noah, they just felt welcome and that everything would be great,” said Robyn Bertenzing, one of Noah's teachers.

Bererzing has been teaching the Timpanogos High School since it opened more than 30 years ago.

She met Noah for the first time when he came to the Kinship team of the Pride Action Culture in 2024, which focused on the student service. She advises the group and remembered Noah because of his big heart.

“One of my favorite memories with Noah was during our Santa campaign. It is one of my favorite times of the year, and I will never forget how excited he was to collect money for these families in our community,” said Bertzing with a smile while trying to hold back tears.

Kutv 2News asked how the community and school are doing after the sudden loss.

“It was a hard day. I think many of the children know, they know, it is a sudden loss, and they seem to be the most difficult because most children have just seen him at the prom,” said Bererzing.

Noah's effects are far beyond the classroom with the love of sport, ballroom dancing and nature.

While his classmates are working hard on the final this week, there is a large hole in many places and people he touched.

Mourning consultants are available for pupils they need.

“We love Noah and will miss him very much,” said Bererzing.

A gofundme was set up for the family to pay a monument to Noah.

The crash is examined.
