Older Japanese American professor, who was violated by alleged hate criminal attacks

Aki Mahara

Montebello, California. The authorities examine a violent incident in which a 71-year-old Japanese American professor was involved as a suspected hate crime after driving from a vehicle in Montebello, California on April 29.

Professor Aki Mahara, a Vietnam veteran and long -time educator in ethnic studies, drove home when a driver deliberately screamed racist racial strokes and deliberately fled him.

Mahara said he saw headlights behind him before he “f *** ing chink!” and to be hit. He reported that the driver continued: “Go back to Chink-Land” when Maehara was injured on the floor. He was hospitalized with a concussion, a broken cheekbone, a neck injury and several bruises and abrasions.

The Montebello police authority confirmed that the case is examined as an attempted vehicle murder. No suspects were publicly identified by Tuesday, and the police are looking for additional evidence.

The fundraiser organized by Freund Glorya Ochun Cabrera says that Maehara is currently unable to take care of itself and need a home health consultant to prepare basic tasks such as swimming, change of bandages and meals.

Maehara has taught Asian Americans, Chicano, African Americans and indigenous people in America as well as courses on the history of breed and racism in the United States. He believes that the attack could have been deliberately intentionally intentionally intentionally intended due to his academic work and earlier threats, which he reported reported by people with white supremacists.
