President Trump used a rally to Michigan to mark what he claimed, “the most successful first 100 days of every administration in the history of our country, so many, many people”.

He emphasized his efforts to combat illegal immigration to bring back work in the United States and end what he called “the Inflations alb dream”.

BBC Verify has examined some of the main claims of his speech.

Are the gasoline prices “a lot” lowered?

Trump said “the petrol prices have dropped a lot” since he started his office.

On April 29, the average price for a gallon “regularly” gas or gasoline in the USA was USA 3.16 (2.36 GBP), as the American Automobile Association (AAA) emerged.

This is something of the AAA on the day on which Trump entered the White House, of USD 3.125 (£ 2.33).

In his speech, he added that the gas prices “only achieved $ 1.98 in many countries”.

This is an assertion that he has raised several times, but we cannot find such low prices.

From April 29, no state had an average gas price of less than $ 2.67 (1.99 GBP), according to AAA.

Did the egg prices drop by 87%?

The US President also spoke about the costs for eggs – a concern for many US consumers due to a continuing outbreak of bird flu – and said: “Since I took his office, the costs for eggs have dropped by 87%.”

This claim is wrong.

The average national price for a dozen eggs of large class A, when Trump entered an office in January, was around 4.95 USD (3.70 GBP).

This increased to a record high of around $ 6.23 (£ 4.65) per dozen in March – according to the latest available figures.

The White House pointed out wholesale prices as evidence of improvements.

Wholesale prices have dropped since Trump took office – but about 52% – of $ 6.55 (£ 4.89) for a dozen large white eggs in January to $ 3.15 (2.34 GBP) last week, according to the US Ministry of Agriculture.

Are border crossings the lowest?

Trump spoke in detail about his efforts to combat illegal immigration – an important campaign problem in the election of last year.

He said: “For two months in a row, we have set all the time raws for the lowest number of illegal border crossings that have ever been recorded.”

This claim is supported by the last monthly figures for “encounters” illegal migrants recorded by officials on the border between the USA and Mexico.

In March there were 7,181 encounters from migrants and in February there were 8,346.

These have been the lowest numbers since the beginning of this monthly records in 2000.

The illegal immigration was an important campaign problem

For comparison: There were around 140,000 encounters in each of these months last year under President Biden.

During his tenure, record numbers of border crossings were followed, which then fell towards the end of his presidency.

The thinking factory of the Migration Policy Institute has examined the annual numbers before 2000 and states that this year's illegal border crossings have not been the lowest for “ever” since the late 1960s.

Did Doge save 150 billion USD?

President Trump praised Elon Musk's work at the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) and said: “You saved over $ 150 billion for waste, fraud and abuse.”

Doge, a advisory committee, publishes a total number of his estimated savings on his website – it was $ 160 billion when the website was last updated on April 20.

However, less than 40% of this number are divided into individual savings – including the cancellation of government contracts, grants and rental contracts.

The analysis by BBC check showed that only about half of these detailed savings had a link to a document or other form of evidence.

According to Doge, it works to upload all receipts to “digestible and transparent way”.

B The federal contract we spoke to also raised questions about the greatest savings of DGEs and overvalued some.

How many jobs did the Trump government create?

Trump said: “In three months we created 350,000 jobs.”

This claim is supported by official figures.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 345,000 jobs were added in the first two full months from Trump to March (the latest available data).

In the same period of the previous year, however, 468,000 jobs were added under President Biden.

Trump also said: “For the first time in recent times, jobs for the Americans born in the local Americans surpass the jobs for foreign employees.”

It is true that in the first two full months by President Trump, more jobs were founded for workers born abroad.

This also happened between February and April last year under President Biden.
