“Melvin is the kind of person you know that he would take a ball for everyone – and he did that,” said Patricia Muldrow, Melvin's aunt. “Instead of running or going away, he said I won't do that, he got up. He stood in there for everyone and he lost his life.”

According to the MPs of Florence, a fight broke out in the parking lot of the Qulture Lounge, which led until shooting on Sunday morning.

On the day of the incident, the owner said that the suspect shot all the victims off the door after not allowed to go, including the security officer Melvin Gibson.

He died of his injuries.

Gibson's important others and her children are of all this with a broken heart.

“He was the tent man, the radio man, everyone in Florence knew that,” said Amanda Collins, Melvin's partner. “She took her father away, her degree is next week. She took away a man who would have given her his shirt, just here from his back when they needed it.”

Gibson's daughter shared the moments she had appreciated with her father.

“Almost every day he would put a smile on the face when I was down if I were crazy, he would make a joke,” said Melashia, Melvin's daughter. “And he was just so nice, he was just so happy.”

The family wants to serve and justice.

You shared this experience a year ago. Gibson's brother also died by gun violence.

Gibson's sisters could not speak in front of the camera today, but have forwarded this message.

“Our family is destroyed, and we miss him to see and hear him every day. It still doesn't feel real when we lose two sons, two brothers at a distance of more than a year. But we appreciate the whole family and friends who even turned around strangers. Just keep his family, his daughters and everyone in their prayers.”

According to TJ Joye, Sheriff of Florence County, the investigators are still working on arresting those involved in the shootout.

His family says that they have not heard from the business owner since the incident.
