4-way stop, which is added to crash beginners Oswego crossing

Oswego village officials hope that the intersection of the Fifth Street and the Bluegrass Parkway will carry out a four-way station to reduce the number of crashes there.

At the meeting of the village board of April 22, the trustees unanimously approved the installation of two additional stop signs at the intersection. The topic was discussed in the committee of the entire meeting on April 8th.

Stop signs for traffic in the east and western direction are currently installed on the Bluegrass Parkway, while the Fifth Street acts as a through cross with additional safety measures by pedestrian footballs.

The intersection is located near the Brokaw Learning Center and has a certain closeness to Plank Junior High School and the Churchill Elementary School.

“In view of the extreme accidents that have been a very extreme number of accidents in recent years, it is a child's play in my opinion,” said Ryan Kauffman, President of the Vorf President of Oswego,. “I know that I have brought many residents to express the same. And for me it is the biggest sense that we do that.”

Dorf fiduciary Kit Kuhrt agreed. He found that two accidents at the intersection had recently taken place in the same week.

“This intersection is not safe for the children,” he said.

Karen Novy, a trustee of the village, also agreed that the intersection needs a four-way stop.

“I spend a lot of time talking to the inhabitants in the division of the Churchill Club, and I know that it is a concern for her,” she said. “I would like to see a four-way stop there.”

Tom Guist, a trustee of Village, said that he expects a traffic light to be installed at the intersection, especially since the number of cars that go through the intersection continues to increase.

The published speed limit in the Fifth Street is 35 miles per hour and 25 miles per hour on the Bluegrass Parkway.

Jason Bastin, police chief of Oswego, said that the speed translation was not a big problem with the accidents that took place at the intersection.

“These crashes, most of them, were a problem with failure,” he said.
