Pedestrian struck and killed on Wednesday morning by the driver

A pedestrian was hit and killed in the Watkins Mill RD this morning, according to the Montgomery County (MCPD) police authority.

At 6:03 a.m., MCPD gave traffic reporting that the Watkins Mill RD was closed after a pedestrian in both directions from NB 355 to I -270. The drivers were recommended to expect delays and to find alternative routes.

Shortly afterwards, at 6:46 a.m., MCPD confirmed the incident as a deadly collision and added that the driver involved stayed at the scene while the collision reconstruction unit (CRU) was on the road. The authorities emphasized that the Watkins Mill RD remains closed in both directions between NB 355 and I -270 and asked the drivers to plan delays and minimize the trip in the affected area.
