Austin Butler and Jeremy All White to play enemies in A24

Austin Butler and Jeremy Allen White will compete in A24 crime film “Enemies” by author director Henry Dunham (“Bushido”, “The Plapp in Sparrow Creek”).

The casting was confirmed on Wednesday after rumors whirled for a while. The film's action is: “A relentless detective and a notorious contract killer collide in a fatal game of cat and mouse.” Production will begin in Chicago this summer.

Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen from Square PEG will produce alongside A24 and Alejandro de Leon. Josh Bachove is on board as an executive producer.

The Oscar candidate Butler recently worked with Aster on his youngest director “Eddington”, also for A24. Butler and Aster will be present at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday to premiere the film, which was described as contemporary Western and co-stars Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal and Emma Stone. Butler also plays in “Contining Stealing”, Darren Aronofsky's next film alongside Matt Smith, Zoe Kravitz and Regina King.

While the Emmy winner is preparing for the fourth season of “The Bear” this summer, he focuses more on the film with the Bruce Springsteen -Biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere”, which debut this year, and the upcoming “Star Wars” rate “The Mandalorian and Grogu”.
