Killed at least 60 in renewed Israeli strikes on Gaza

A number of Israeli air stripes over the Gaza Strip in the early 14th May killed at least 60 people, including 22 children, according to the sources that the Gaza Ministry of Health quote and the local hospitals. The strikes met houses in areas such as Jabaliya in the north of Gaza and Khan Younis in the south.

Health officers said that rescue teams had trouble reaching victims who were buried under ruins.

The bombing was followed by Hamas' publication by Edan Alexander, an Israeli-American hostage, in a deal easier by US officials. Israel held briefly in the military surgery for the exchange, but again took air strikes about an hour after leaving the territory.

Why did Israel escalate the attacks?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that “Under no circumstances” Israel would hire his military campaign until Hamas is eliminated. The military had warned the residents of Jabaliya to evacuate and quoted the presence of rocket launchers and militant infrastructure.

Netanyahu also indicated that Israel was removed days before a broader escalation and promised to “with great strength” to enter the Gaza to end the mission.

What are the humanitarian concerns?

Impartial. Especially facts.TM

Almost 500,000 people in Gaza Face of catastrophic hunger due to the Israela blockade of food, medicine and fuel.

Aid organizations and international civil servants warn that Gaza approaches the famine. In the integrated classification of nutritional security it was reported that almost 500,000 people have a catastrophic hunger level. Another 1 million inhabitants have difficulty reaching from enough food.

France emphatically criticized the blockade of Israel and called it a contribution to the humanitarian crisis. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the refusal of the Prime Minister Netanyahu to enable relief goods and explains that politics prevents medical evacuations and leaves doctors without supplies.

The population of 2.3 million is still largely dependent on external support, but Israel has restricted food, medicine and fuel since March 2. The blockade has summarized with strong bombing and soil operations, the estimated 90% of the population, often several times.

How did the United States react?

President Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates this week to convey further hostage publications and revive blocked ceasefire negotiations. US envoys also met with hostage families in Tel Aviv.

Trump said that more hostage publications could meet and proposed a plan to resume humanitarian aid for Gaza Strip with private contractors. Israel supported the plan, but the United Nations and several auxiliary groups have rejected it due to concerns about surveillance and logistics.

Is the Hamas leadership affected?

Israeli media quoted unnamed security officers who claimed that a strike on Tuesday could have killed the Hamas military leader Mohammad Sinwar. According to reports, the attack was aimed at a command bunker under the European Hospital in Khan Younis, but the Israeli military did not confirm his death. Medics said an Israeli strike on a Bulldozer near the site wounded several people on Wednesday.

What will come next?

Combining talks remain fragile, whereby Hamas and the trade with Israel are responsible for their collapse. Israel sent a delegation to Doha for new negotiations, while Hamas communicated through mediators in the USA, Egypt and in Qatar. In the meantime, the Islamic Jihad started missiles in Israel late Tuesday, which caused further Israeli retaliation.

The situation remains volatile, with both sides being warned of continued measures and international observers request the duck to avoid humanitarian catastrophe.
