Jamal Murray sets up 43, while Nuggets take over 3-2 lead against Clipper

Denver – Jamal Murray broke the hearts of Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs so often that it was time to do the La Clippers the same. This time it was not a rear Summer beaten, but a brilliant shot that led the Denver Nuggets to a 131-115 victory against Los Angeles in game 5 of the best-of-Seven series in the first round on Tuesday evening in the ball arena.

Murray scored a game with 43 points at 17 out of 26, his sixth career playoff game of 40 or more points than Denver took over a 3-2 series. Game 6 will be in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.

Murrays eight 3 points gave him his third playoff game with eight 3s, the fifth in the NBA's post-season history behind Klay Thompson (six) and Damian Lillard, Ray Allen and Stephen Curry (all four).

“These big moments, these situations. He was born for it,” said Nuggets coach David Adelman. “You can somehow say how the ball comes from his hand in certain nights. I thought he had a great elevator for his jump shot. … If it flows like this, it is the guy who has won so many playoff games in the past.”

Murray came into the playoffs that steered a thigh injury that prompted him to miss six games but played back into the top form, since the Nuggets after the shocking shots of long -time head coach Michael Malone and General Manager Calvin Booth, who remained in the regular season, seem to find their championship outlet.

“That's what it's really about,” said Murray. “I only come down, play hard and everyone try to be on the same side with everything we try. Tonight I think that we did really good work throughout the game. Even if they run run or whatever, we could simply put it together and we could find it out.”

Murray said he enjoyed the back and forth of this contemporary series. All adjustments that every team makes from game to game and his individual matchup with Clipper Defensive Ace Kris Dunn.

“It's funny, I get a few good defenders for myself year after year and I can build good relationships with these boys, do you know what I say?” Said Murray. “To play against them. Joking around, going back and forth, mocking whatever it is, it's all part of the competition, part of the game, so it's just another challenge. I respect everyone over there. It was just fun to take part in competitions.”

Dunn was taken in the 2016 draft two places in front of Murray (No. 7). Clipper's striker, Ben Simmons, was number 1.

“It is always fun to go against him and always a fight,” said Murray.

Denver played game 1 of this series, but only seemed to tumble a few days ago after the loss of games 2 and 3 and injured themselves to start Michael Porter Jr. (shoulder) and Russell Westbrook (foot).

Somehow Denver found his boast during the short break between games 3 and 4. In the last two games, the nuggets have taken control of the series with physicality and extraordinary shot.

Tuesday evening, Murray and Westbrook, which compensated for, was to shoot 25 out of 41 (61%) from the field and reach 11-of-20-3 champions. That was as many as the entire Clipper team (11 out of 29).

Murrays Big Night set a relatively long night for the three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who only scored 13 points on 13 shots, but still ended with a triple double (12 assists and 10 rebounds).

“If he is free with Nikola, it's great,” said Adelman about Murray. “But it is certainly nice to have these nights when it is his show. We needed it in a big game tonight.”

While all five ClipperS starter in double-digit numbers, led by Ivica Zubacs 27 points at 11 out of 15 shootings, Los Angeles could not overcome a bad offensive night from James Harden, who only made nine shots in 35 minutes and had a series depth of five assisters.

Some of it was the defense of Christian Braun. But hard was simply not very involved. His 35 touches were a series deep, as were the 23 points that the clipper achieved on possessions, which he touched the ball according to ESPN research.
