Fatal crash on I-75 near Calhoun | Local news

UPDATE: All three people who were killed in a fiery crash between Calhoun and Adairsville were identified. The Coroner's Coroner office of the Gordon County confirmed Local 3 News.

William West, 50, from Lafayette, and Christopher Powell, 23, from Okeechobee, Florida, died in the wreck. A third person was killed in the crash, but their identity is only released when the family is informed.

“The Gordon County's Coroner's office will continue to support Georgia State Patrol while the investigation continues,” said Nick Blalock, forensic doctor of Gordon County.

The crash with six separate vehicles occurred on Tuesday, May 14, after a tractor trailer crossed the median with a Hyundai sonata after collapsing with a Hyundai sonata.

This Semi then fell head -on into two more Sattelzuger and two passenger vehicles.

Since then, all lanes have been open again since the crash.
