Inspector arrested for school best -exploration scandal

The anti -corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a high -ranking inspector of the Shivaji Nagar police station, while he allegedly accepted a brilliant fee of 1 LAKH from a school administrator because he took legal measures on Wednesday.

Inspector Bapurao Madhukar Desmukh allegedly called for RS 5 Lakh from the complainant, who is a common trustee of a school in Shivaji Nagar, said the official.

The trustee turned to Deshmukh to look for help after a competing group in school trust broke off the school's main goal and tried to take over illegally in August 2024.

He asked Deshmukh to keep the rival group from entering the school until the charity commissioner placed an order about the dispute.

Deshmukh said he could help to prevent the group from entering the school and register a case of violation against it, but supposedly called for RS 5 Lakh from the trustee.

The amount was later negotiated to 3 Lakh, whereupon the ACB complainant approached.

A trap was laid and Deshmukh took place on Tuesday.

A case in the context of the prevention of corruption law was registered against Deshmukh and another investigation is underway, said the official.
