Rory McIlroy admits that the winning of the master's “highlight of my career” could be.

Charlotte, NC – Rory McIlroy could win the PGA championship this week in the Quail Hollow Club, where he has won four times in his career, and he could hold up a few more big championships before the end of his career.

But Mcilroy knows that none of them will correspond to his playoff victory at the Masters of the last month, which ended his almost eleven-year drought in large championships and enabled him to become the sixth golfer that has completed the career grand slam.

“Everyone has to have goals and dreams, and I was able to do something that I dreamed of for a long time,” said Mcilroy on Wednesday during a press conference at Quail Hollow. “I will still set myself goals. I will still try to achieve certain things. But I sit here and know that this could be the highlight of my career.

“It's a very cool thing. I still want to create many other highlights and highlights, but I'm not sure whether another victory corresponds to it a few weeks ago.”

McIlroy saw highlights of his last round with the masters, but only a few times, so he will remember “what I felt and what I saw through my own eyes” and not what he sees on TV.

After McIlroy had made a 4-foot putt for Birdie on the 18th hole in the 18th hole to beat Justin Rose and end at 11, he threw his putter into the air and put his head in his hands. He fell on his knees and cried.

“But I always have [watched highlights]I'm on my way, “said Mcilroy.” I still have the feeling that I want to cry. Yes, it was involuntary [reaction]. I have never felt such a publication and could never feel a publication like this again. That could be a unique thing and it was a very cool moment. “

The 36 -year -old McIlroy plays one of the best golfs in his career. In addition to collecting a green jacket at the Masters, he won PGA Tour Signature events at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship.

Because of his success at Quail Hollow, McIlroy is one of the favorites to win a Wanamak trophy that would be the third of his career. He will be one of the top competitors at the US Open next month in the Oakmont Country Club outside of Pittsburgh and the Open Championship in the Royal Portrush Golf Club.

“I achieved everything I wanted,” said Mcilroy. “I did everything I wanted to do in the game. As a child, I dreamed of becoming the best player in the world and winning all majors. I did that. Everything is also how long I decide to play the game competitive is a bonus.”

While McIlroy admits that he was thinking about what it would need to become the best European or international golfer in history, he will not state what he wants to achieve in the rest of his career. He said the weight of the attempt to complete the career grand Slam sometimes overwhelmed him for more than a decade.

“I think everyone saw how difficult a north star is and being able to get over the line,” said Mcilroy. “I have the feeling that I have a strain on the career grand Slam stuff, and I want to enjoy it. I would like to enjoy what I have achieved, and I want to enjoy the last decade or whatever my career, and I don't want to burden myself [with] Numbers or statistics. I just want to try to play the best golf I can. “

Jack Nicklaus 'Record of 18 Great Championship Siegen or Tiger Woods' 15 seems to be unrealistic in this phase of Mcilroy's career. His next American won the six of the Americans Lee Trevino and Phil Mickelson and Nick Faldo. Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead and Bobby Jones are among the five golfers who have captured seven.

“If I can just try to get the best out of me every week, I know what my skills are. I know the golf that I can play,” said Mcilroy. “And when I keep diving and only try every week, every week, especially in these four big ones a year, I know that I have my chances.”
