The Commission deals with traffic safety, pride and the local crime

The public security commission of West Hollywood confronted the urgent traffic safety, the preparations of Pride 2025 and the concerns about local crime at its meeting of May 12, which was driven by the data of the community and the data of the sheriff. The Sheriff Department of the Los Angeles district reported 1,767 April calls for service, including 183 part 1 crimes and 34 pickpockets in the Rainbow district. The residents can submit theft or vandalism reports without suspicious details about lasd.org/sorts (54 submissions in the last month), although limited suspicious information is often restricted, with mainly the insurance needs be served. In order to prevent vehicle slumps, the incumbent captain Lapkin, no bags or wallets that are visible in cars pushed a frequent trigger for April burglaries.

Traffic safety dominated the discussions with five vehicle pedestrian and two vehicle bicy collisions, four driver-at-fault because it does not give in. A hit-and-run on May 5th in Fountain Avenue and in Havenhurst seriously injured a pedestrian, which caused the demands of the sheriff for tips. On May 9, a dump truck rolled down the Clark Street and hit parked vehicles, an electropoly and whiskey, and caused a power failure. The inhabitant Kevin Burton, who found 20% of the pedestrian line near Fountain/Havenhurst in April, asked the road to redesign the road, citing a city proposal. Victor Omelczenko reported on an almost collision in Crescent Heights and Norton and praised the reaction of the sheriff, but emphasized the enforcement. He also marked the meetings of simultaneous public security and the historical preserving commission and limited the participation of the citizens.

Commissioner Kelly Parlarski, who personally lost a drunk driver, and Nick Roybal, who started Braun Levy, who was killed by a Dui driver in Manhattan Beach, urged Vision Zero and Rainbow District Anti-Dui campaigns. Commissioner Catherine Eng advised pedestrians to avoid telephone distractions to reduce collision risks. For families, LAPD West Traffic offers a free child seat inspection in Butler Avenue 1663 on June 7th.

Local incidents underlined the needs of enforcement. A robbery on May 12th on Larrabee at 4 p.m. led to a quick arrest. A registered shooter that is present in front of Las Perlas, who was reported in Nextdoor as internally wrong, led to an arrest, which clarified the concerns of the east side. Lack of staff of the sheriff with smaller academy classes (50–60 compared to 120), challenges for recruitment that influence the reaction capacity.

For Pride 2025 (May 30th to June 1), Sheriff's, Fire and Block by Block, Refreded Robust Safety. Lapkin emphasized “See something, say something”, with bicycle patrol, undercover foot enforcement for violations of the crosswalks and alleys inspired by New Orleans Mardi Gras lessons. The uniform command of Fire ensures the presence of the firefighting team and determines potential alcohol -related calls for dumpstore fires. Block by Block will prevent non -authorized providers (e.g. Hot Dog stands) and support drunk people who build on the efforts of the past year. The commissioners asked the use of the weekend car to avoid Duis. A Ambassador of the Kings Road Park ambassador with a thrown glass bottle did not cause a serious injury, with Sheriff's urgent charges.

The commission paused its program with the drone as initially responder to the sheriff flight recording concerns, whereby the discussion of the city council for June 9 was determined together with discussions of the homemade industries. The residents can get involved on June 16 on June 16.
