Nate Oats offers injuries for Latrell Wrightsell Jr., Houston Mallet

Alabama's men's basketball had some injury back last season, but the guardians Latrell Wrightsell Jr. and Houston Mallets have the worst.

Wrightsell broke his Achilles against Oregon at the player festival championship of Players Era and Mallett's persistent injuries on his knees only allowed him to play in six games. These injuries complete their 2024-25 campaigns very early.

Nevertheless, each of them has been rehabilitated for some time with the hope of playing in Alabama's first game next season. Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats set up an update in the tradition of the regions in Birmingham on Tuesday morning.

“Houston Mallet – we submitted all the documents for his medical redshirt to the SEC,” said Oats. “We don't expect to be problems there. He is there [Alabama trainer] Clarke [Holter] About every day in the training room. He got along really well.

“The one who obviously goes a little more about how he will be ready for next year is Trelly Wrightsell. But he is a lot before the schedule of everything Clarke tells me. Clarke says that he works super hard. He is doing everything he has to do and we expect to be completely ready to go the first game.

“I mean, he is already jumping. You clarified the jump. He was here in Andrews, Dr. Waldrop, who is responsible for the operation. He is really satisfied with where he is.”

Mallets and Wrightsell are two of the four returning Alabama players from last season when they join the Aden Holloway and striker Aden Sherrell. Mallet, Wrightsell and Holloway compete for the spot for the starting point, since this slot has to be filled.
