A man is dead after a tragic accident. The video caught the terrible death of a man who occurred when a hot balloon caught fire.

Riviera Maya News reported that the incident took place on May 11 during the first balloon festival in Zacatecas, Mexico.

According to the outlet, the hot air balloon was lying on the ground when it loosened from his tea. His basket drove in the fire with three people, the outlet reported.

A man who was identified by the police as a 40-year-old Lucio “N” was able to save the other two people on board according to the outlet. According to his heroic deeds, Lucio was involved in the rope and hung in the air, the outlet reported.

The fatal incident was recorded on video. The clip showed that Lucio dangled in front of the hot air balloon before it fell into death.

Secretary General Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza spoke in a Facebook post about the tragedy.

“I regret that during the first balloon festival, part of the city council of Enrique Estrada 2025 organized by the city council of this municipality, they lost their lives after an unfortunate incident on board a hot air balloons,” he wrote. “The authorities immediately reacted to the scene to offer those affected for care and support.”

“We asked the General Prosecutor's office to carry out the corresponding investigations in order to clarify the facts and determine responsibility,” added Reyes Mugüerza. “We ask all municipal authorities to strengthen their review mechanisms in order to avoid this type of risks during their activities and festivities.”
