Remember the victims of the Carrollton bus accident on the 37th anniversary

Carrollton, Ky. (Lex 18) – It was 37 years ago that a deadly bus collision in Carroll County claimed the life of 27 people, and the Carrotry police department remembers the victims.

In a social media contribution from the department it says: “Today we remember the victims, the survivors and the families of the Carrollton bus accident on May 14, 1988.”

According to reports, the crash reported when a bus with a youth group and church members collided with a pickup with a pickup, while this evening he traveled to Interstate 71 around 10:45 p.m.

The driver of the pick -up was affected by alcohol and, according to a report submitted by the US National Transportation Safety Board in 1989, traveled south to the south.

“The fuel tank of the church bus was pierced during the collision sequence and there was a fire that devoured the entire bus,” the report said.
