Islamophobia kills

The nationwide rally against Islamophobia was a reaction to a cruel murder that took place two weeks earlier in a mosque.

On April 25, 2025, Aboubakar Cissé, a 22-year-old citizen of Mali, was stabbed 57 times when he had led in the Khadija mosque in Grand-Combe, a tiny city in southern France.

This hate crime triggered a nationwide shock wave, especially in the Muslim community. When the investigation took place, it became known that the murderer who was finally arrested In Italy, his crime justified by calling his hatred of Islam and Muslims, but also the fact that Abubakar was black. “He's black. I'll do it!”, According to report the murderer reports said.

As March emphasized last Sunday, there was no vacuum. In the past two decades, anti-Muslim, anti-black and racist discourses have been normalized in the French mainstream media, but also in some political circles.

Ahmad Ibrahim, a Palestinian activist and member of Dründel Palestine and Perspectives Musulmanes-one of the co-organizers of the march on Sunday against the Islamophobia sags of the Palestine-Chronicle that “build up the government and the media” build “in France” in France “” “”

Among the banners used by the demonstrators in Paris was one of them: “Islamophobia killed. The state and the media are complicit! Let us resist!”

Omar Soumi, one of the Palestinian founders and leaders of Dründel Palestine, told us: “It is important to be here at this rally today, not only for our martyr, but also the political context of what is happening in this country.

“Aboubakar Cissé was murdered for Islamophobia, one of the weapons that the colonialists used against our people, in Africa, Palestine in Asia and in our diasporas here in the global west,” he added.

In this context, some of the basic organizations involved in the march also called for the abolition of Islamophobic laws, including the 2004 law, which banned the veil in public schools in France.

Islamophobia and the procedure against the Palestine -Solidarity

On April 30th, less than a week after the hideous murder of Aboubakar Cissé, the French Interior Ministry Bruno Retailleau, announced His intention to prohibit Palestine's urgency, the largest pro-Palestinian organization in France, which was founded in October 2023 by the Palestinians in France, after the introduction of the genocide campaign against the Gaza by the State of Israel with the support of the United States and the European Union.

It is noteworthy that Bruno Retailleau, who is currently running for the Presidency of the right party of Les Républicain (which has collected 7% of the votes during the parliamentary elections of the last summer), visited his campaign rally and was only murdered two days later.

On March 26, Retailleau took part in a rally organized by elnet, a prominent pro genocide organization with direct connections to the Israeli government. The French Interior Minister concluded his speech at a rally, which many observers, including the French Journal Mediapart, described as Islamophobic by announcing: “Below with the veil!”

In this regard, Ahmad Ibrahim also emphasized: “Palestine is no stranger to the question of Islamophobia. If Netanyahu, his government and Israel generally use a genocide against the Palestinians, fight or commit an Islamophobic story against us.”

“The genocide in Palestine also encourages racist people and parties to unleash their hate speeches against Muslims,” he noted.

According to Ibrahim: “You think when the genocide, the deportations of an entire people in front of the whole world are possible in Palestine. So why not here, with the Muslims, black people, Arabs and Asians? This is why this rally is very important and why the presence of urgency palists is also very important.”

Omar al Soumy, for his part, believes that “Islamophobia is invented and distributed by the Zionist lobby to use Islamophobia to silence our communities and to silence solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Palestine urgency

Omar Al Soumy also spoke about the prospects of Dringspalestine, a coalition that he co -founded 18 months ago.

“Firstly, the resistance in our minds, in our spirits, lies in our hearts. We are not afraid. We know that our cause of justice, the cause of freedom and we have received a lot of support after this stupid decision by the French Interior Ministry.

“It is not the first time that the house of a Palestinian has been destroyed by the cast or by the colonizer. But we will build and build up again. We will defend and protect this house. […] We will not allow you to ban Palestine's penetration. And we say it again: You cannot forbid, you cannot dissolve the legitimate resistance of the Palestinians, ”added Al Soumy.

“We will fight and we will fight until we can return to our country, the land of Palestine. From the river to the sea, this country must be freed from oppression and colonialism. And this also means that we stand here, since diasporas, Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims, Muslims, Africans, Asians, are a loyalty role in realistic, in the imperialist Metropolises, in the imperialist measurement ropoles, in the imperialist tired, in the imperialist, in the imperialist trouble, in the imperialist effort, in the imperialist, in the imperial metropolises ”.

In the meantime, the French government's attempt to prohibit Palestine's urgency has triggered an unprecedented wave of solidarity, which led to a petition that was signed by over 200,000 people within a few days.
