Report: Löwen at Wikinger on Christmas Day

The Detroit Lions play on Christmas Day, December 25th, against the Minnesota Vikings in the US Bank Stadium, as the reports of the NFL insiders Jordan Schultz and the Minnesota Star Tribune cause. This will be week 17 of the NFL season.

This means that this year the Lions will play both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Report: Lions packer at Lambeau Field for week 1

The Detroit Lions will report on Sunday, September 7th, to open their season in the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field.

According to a report by Fox Sports, the NFC North Rivalness game will be a start at 4:25 p.m. on Fox. According to The Free Press' David Birkett, the leak corresponds to other announced games of the first week, which were mainly division rival matchups.

The rest of the Lions time plan will probably not be announced until May 14th from 8 p.m.

Lions will have the fourth highest trip in 2025

Although the Lions are supposed to play more away games (nine) than home games (eight) in 2025, Detroit will have the fourth-shortstred program among all NFL teams in the coming regular season.

In the regular 2025 season, the Lions will be estimated to travel 11,411 miles, so Bill Speros, in front of only the Cincinnati Bengals (8,753 miles), Buffalo Bills (10.546) and the Baltimore Ravens (10.647).

For comparison: Thanks to a blackboard of East Coast Games and a game of the first week in Brazil, the Los Angeles Chargers will be rated 37,086 in miles this year.

Part of the shorter travel plan of the Lions can be attributed to the proximity of the team to the NFC North Rivals. Both the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears end up in the lower third of the NFL teams with less than 13,000 estimated miles on upcoming trips, while the Minnesota Vikings reach 4 and 5 in weeks 4 and 5 due to international games in Dublin and London.

No international games for the Lions

The Lions will not be planned for a game in the regular season in overseas in 2025, but the Minnesota Vikings will play in two in a row.

The first will come on September 28th in a matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland. The second comes a week later on October 5 against the Cleveland Browns in Tottenham Hostpur Stadium in London. The Vikings are referred to as a street team for both games.

Detroit Lions will not play in the NFL kick-off game

Despite the rumors that they could be considered, the Lions will not play in the league football game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday evening.

Instead, it will be the other American team, the Dallas Cowboys, who take over the defending Super Bowl champions in the annual game.
