Adam Silver says NBA is supposed to expand the Las Vegas Summer League | discuss | basketball

The NBA will land a potential franchise franchise company in Las Vegas this summer, one of the front leaders, discuss the league expansion.

League and 30 owners will officially discuss the expansion for the first time during the NBA governors' meeting in July, said Commissioner Adam Silver during a SiriusxM interview.

“In order to improve the views of the existing owners to potential expansion and how we would start to investigate all effects,” said Silver.

These implications include the possible deception of talents and economic effects that are mainly associated with adding two teams to the league that would take part in the media law transactions.

“It's just math,” said Silver. “This is something we have to look at too.”

The league organizes the board meeting every year during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which is planned for 10 to July 20th in the Thomas & Mack Center and in the Cox Pavilion.

After this meeting, the NBA would try to get a feeling for which markets might be interested in an expansion franchise.

“Obviously I know that there is an enormous interest in Seattle. I know that there is an enormous interest in Las Vegas and several other cities,” said Silver.

Silver made it clear that the league had not started any formal expansion talks.

He previously said that the NBA had to conclude a new collective agreement and media law contract before the expansion was seriously taken into account. The formal process can begin with both objects with potential expansion.

“Even to the extent to which cities have reached, and we thanked them for their interest, but we are not yet ready to stop meetings,” said Silver. “We will have this opportunity in the early summer and speak to all the different ownership groups in the NBA and get a feeling.”

Silver did not offer a timeline for a possible expansion.

“The expansion over time makes sense,” he said. “To do precise timing, I think we still have to work on it.”

In Las Vegas, several remarkable numbers have expressed interest in being part of an owner group, including LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal and Floyd Mayweather.

The OAK View Group and the real estate company LVXP have announced plans for the construction of NBA readiness in Las Vegas. Last year Oak View pulled out of its previously announced location in Las Vegas Boulevard South and did not announced where this project could end. Since the announcement of the past year, LVXP has not shared anything on its Arena resort project.

Bill Foley, owner of Golden Knights, has also expressed interest in the possession of an NBA expansion team and said he would improve the T-Mobile Arena if he was successful in this offer.
